Holy Haul Batman!

 Gotta love a successful physical media haul! I went to two Half Priced Books locations to find some treasures and not only did I get more than expected I also found some media that I’ve been looking for for years! 

For books I got Wildwood by Colin Meloy to prep for the new Laika Studios film adaptation coming out in October and I found a book I have legitimately been looking for for at least ten years:’) which is ‘From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler ! I’m excited to read Wildwood for the first time but the young girl in me is beyond ecstatic to reread a novel from my childhood:) 

I am a sucker for a cd or cassette tape since I grew up with both and with building my physical media collection, they are a must find! I have genuinely been looking for all six of these soundtracks/albums on CD or tape so my day was made!

Last but definitely not least is the movie haul!

When I say I have been searching FOREVER for secretary im so serious so man was I excited to find it xD 

same for penelope and the complete that 70’s show! So over joyed for all of these finds :’) 

It’s crazy that after not seeking out certain media after a long while of no luck that most of them popped out at me in this trip! Remaining hopeful for the next treasure hunt fingers crossed!

Fahl Friday

 Today marks another magical night of live music from the earth angel Mary Fahl! She is the former lead singer of October Project, one of the most beautiful, poetic and haunting (in a good way) groups. Mary is like a siren drawing you in with her beautiful voice, truly a warm wave pulling you into the ocean. A true force of nature♥︎ 

Even though it will already be a great day at work, this is going to get me through the day :’)  will of course be listening to my playlist which I’ve also linked below! If you are looking for your next 90’s whimsigoth band/sound, October Project and Mary Fahl is a great next stop ;)

Lunar Eclipse 08/27/26

 Just experienced one of the most beautiful and magical moments of a lifetime! I have seen a lunar eclipse with my own eyes!

Not only was the experience from the beginning to peak eclipse incredibly mesmerizing but I saw a bright sparkling shooting star dance across the sky with the brightest tail! Right under the eclipse! Wow :’) I truly don’t have words to express how beautiful the moment was and the emotions that washed over me. I’ve never seen one before it was so unbelievable, left me completely speechless.

So grateful I didn’t give into bedtime because of work or I would’ve missed it. Just a sign to make the moves to experience more in life:)

time in the garden

 This is my first season growing my own herbs / food and  I’m so happy to document they’re ready for repotting! My pride and joy right now is the Holy Basil/ Tulsi plant that has reach new heights so quickly:’) 

But can’t forget to mention the progress on the other herbs and pepper plant! 

Repotting will take place by the end of the week then a new set up will have to take place, maybe even a new porch greenhouse! Will also have to start over with the lemon balm seeds since they didn’t do very well ( not sure why they weren’t happy like the other seeds/what I did wrong) I’ll have to figure out the best method - Only time will tell!

Traveling Thoughts

As September approaches, the exciting thoughts of my favorite weather soon makes my thought goblin wander to the inevitable new year sneaking up to the thoughts of what I want the next chapter of life to bring ... it was staring me right in the face.. I need to travel more!

 After some astrocartography research and soul searching I made a list of where I want to go and one of the main locations I'm drawn to is Washington & Oregon or I guess the PNW in general! For the sake of a self & soul journey I would love to drive across the country (over 24 hours) whether it's there or back home so that's why it's almost 24 hours long :') I'm sure more will be added over time... the more the merrier! Whether it's a solo trip or a trip with friend(s) or family I will make it my mission to cross these places off my bucket-list

My soul craves the true travelers experience driving across the US, stopping at local stores/shops, trying new foods, seeing new sights and attractions, art museums, taking in as much community and nature as possible, UGH all the stops.

It’s Tony Thursday!

After eagerly waiting for this movie release the day is finally here! 

Tonight I’ll be taking myself on a movie date to see Tony by director Matt Johnson and I’m so beyond excited :’) it will be my drive for the day, such a fun thing to look forward to ♡︎

This movie is based around the memoir by Anthony Bourdain titled Kitchen Confidential: Adventures In The Culinary Underbelly in which Bourdain tells his early tales of his chef life giving a glimpse into his time in the restaurant business, how it was operated and the parts he played. 

I had the privilege of being able to purchase and read a physical copy as well as listen to the audiobook Bourdain recorded himself reading and if anyone has interest in ingesting this book the audiobook is my recommendation! Hearing him read it was way more entertaining♥︎

Definitely thanking my mum for introducing me to him, growing up watching his shows on the travel channel and food network was one of my favorite memories with her and as an adult I’ve come full circle now watching the same entertainment as an adult xD my love for his unique personality hasn’t wavered haha 

Only a few hours to go :’) best believe my review will be on letterboxd later this evening ;) 

Just Another Manic Monday

How is it half way through August (nothing prepared me for that, looking at the calendar this morning .-.) on the brighter side, so many things I’ve been looking forward to are almost here :’)  Plus the morning was greeted with rainfall which is exactly what I needed!

Day notes: The weather matched the work day mood so well! It was herb inventory and reset day for work which means I got to play herbalist (my favorite part of my job) and I do have to say working in a locally owned natural foods store while it’s raining outside really is THE vibe. Truly the life path meant to find me, so much so I swear I’m gonna open up my own someday 🙂‍↔️ such a different way of life for real.
